Kami-sama looks like he's gonna write a name kill a bitch.

Wow, Vinny looks really good. Your very good with references, aren't you? =) (I hardly have the time or patience to look up references anymore, I just draw from memory. XD)

Haha, yeah.. i do awful from memory. Really the only time i can draw something decently is if i have a reference with me. which is why i am desperately hunting down the Death Note manga. The ultimate reference source

Haha, that's good. If I may, I'd like to give advice: Study proportions. Basic body studies will help a lot, no matter if you use a reference or not. Once you have basic body structure somewhat pinned down you should be able to see how limbs and joints move with the character. It helped me a lot. =)
Also, depending on what sort of style you're using, in reality, the human face is as big as the hand. And when a character is standing straight with their arms by their sides, the fingertips should go to mid-thigh or just below mid-thigh.
STUDY FACIAL STRUCTURES. Learning at what level the eyes go and where the nose fits in between them, and where the jawline is, and how to separate the mouth from the chin... These are all key things to know if you ever find yourself without a reference.
I'm glad if I could help you in any way. =)
